Choice paralysis in a luxury catalogue
Handmade Persian carpets are bought on texture, colour, size and room fit, none of which survive a grid of small images. The range is wide, the images are heavy, and most buyers are not specialists. The site had to feel like a high-end gallery and still get someone to a shortlist.
The practices this build came out of.

An AI selection flow in front of the catalogue
The platform is a WordPress and WooCommerce build with a recommendation layer in front of it: a Find Your Rug flow that takes preference and visual input and returns a suggested set rather than the whole catalogue. Category structure, custom fields and a CDN-backed media pipeline sit underneath, because an image-first site only feels luxurious while it is fast.
Image-first, inquiry-led
The interface is kept deliberately minimal so product photography carries the page, with a warm, earthy palette drawn from the pieces themselves. The purchase path is inquiry-driven rather than a one-click checkout, which is how this market actually buys, so contact and consultation are built into the product view.
Traffic, revenue and conversion figures belong to the client, so we do not publish them. What follows is what the delivered build contains.
